MR. JOHN MACDONALD IPO JUDGE 2010 NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP PERKIN (27.04.2010)

By profession John is a Senior Technical Officer employed at a liquefied natural gas plant in Melbourne, Australia.

John is a familiar face in the Australasian IPO scene. He has been an active participant in IPO for 27 years, He has judged IPO working trials in Australia, New Zealand and Indonesia.  He has also conducted numerous seminars on the training of dogs for IPO, obedience and dog behaviour and has written numerous articles for various dog magazines.

John is a past President and past Director of Judges of Australian United Sportdog Clubs Inc, is a licensed AUSC working Judge since 1994 and is the current President of the National Rottweiler Council (Australia) having held this position for 13 years.

John first became involved with Schutzhund/IPO in 1982.  During his involvement in IPO John has trained and trialled 7 Rottweilers, 2 Dobermanns and 1 German Shepherd Dog to various working titles, including BH, SchH I, SchH II, SchH III, IPO I,  IPO III and AD.  He has assisted with the training of in excess of 50 dogs to titles of BH through SchH III, IPO III, AD, FH, CDX, TD and TDX and also prepared 10 Rottweilers for ZTP (ADRK Breeding Suitability Test), including 2 of his own, as well as numerous Rottweilers for Breed survey conducted in Australia. He has also trained and prepared one of his Rottweilers for the Körung procedure.

John’s preferred breed is the Rottweiler, a versatile working dog and excellent family companion.  Together with his wife, John breeds Rottweilers under the kennel prefix “Allgemein” and they have had considerable success at Rottweiler specialty shows with dogs they have bred.
